Today is the Winter Solstice and a good time to reflect on the past year and gain insight into the next.....

Using angel, archangel, tarot or any divination cards, here's a powerful tool for you:

The Spiral Spread:

This is a tool to help you gain an alternative perspective on events that are occurring in your life. This spread is to be pulled on the solstices and equinoxes, which mark the beginning of each of the four seasons of the year.

You can use any divination deck that you like.

Before you pull this spread, create a sacred space. Then lay out your spread in a clockwise spiral formation beginning in the centre, like this:

Now you can read each card, applying it to the following references:

1) Essence
The foundation and core lesson you're currently working with. It's the theme that runs throughout the spread.

2) Past
The past may be gone but it often affects the choices we make in the present. Review your accomplishments of the past season and ask yourself if you carry the strengths you've gained, or if the 'should haves' and 'if onlys' are limiting the decisions you make today. Make peace, gather your victories and move forward.

3) Present
This card represents what's occurring in your life right now. Trust your instincts and intuition as you make your choices in the present.

4) Future
Look to this card to find direction for the choices you'll be making in the months to come.

5) Possibility
Imagine tossing a pebble out to the horizon. The pebble represents your goals and dreams; the horizon is the field of unlimited potential. What good fortune! You have a string attached to the pebble, which leads you to the place of realizing those goals and dreams.

6) Blessings
Look to this card for blessings from your allies, ancestors and medicine helpers. When you're still, the wisdom that comes from within brings new dimension to understanding.

7) Synthesis
The culmination of the teachings, lessons and guidance of the spiral are found here. Bringing you the integration of the wisdom offered during the season and the benefits of consciously choosing to do your work. The spiral has no beginning and no end - allow your field of wisdom to expand with each step along your sacred journey.

Mesothelioma’s Contribution to Natural Healing

Although incurable cancers can devastate families, the frequency of these diseases has also led to the development of natural healing techniques that can benefit sufferers of many different ailments. One of the most widespread, destructive of these cancers is mesothelioma, which is the result of asbestos exposure. Unfortunately, mesothelioma symptoms frequently lie dormant for decades before appearing, leading to a delay in diagnosis and treatment. However, several individuals have refused to rely on the ineffective traditional treatments in favor of simple alternative therapies that compliment the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Recognizing mesothelioma results from the presence of a foreign particle embedded in the body, many long-term survivors have discovered the value of diets and supplements that work to rid the body of these toxins naturally. Opposed to invasive surgeries, which destroy tissue and puts patients in danger of further risks like infection, surgery saps the body of vital energy required to fight disease. Furthermore, patients who choose not to undergo destructive forms of treatment like radiation or chemotherapy can find relief from symptoms of mesothelioma in an improved diet, adding to one’s quality of life as well.
The next logical step for individuals fighting cancers is to cut out all other dietary and lifestyle habits that inhibit the body’s energy and ability to heal, including alcohol and tobacco. This requires developing a dietary and exercise plan to maximize one’s health, happiness and continued strength. Professionals with experience in natural healing can often aid patients creating a healthy routine. In the past, mainstream medicine recommended patients undergo extended rest and limited physical activity, although it is now known that healthy exercise has a number of benefits, including fighting muscle waste, lessening symptoms of fatigue and improving the overall quality of life.
The final step for patients to improve their condition, especially regarding their mesothelioma life expectancy, involves reaching out for support from close friends and family. An important aspect of healing involves allowing others to share the burden of a difficult cancer diagnosis. This support can take the form of emotional support, by joining a community of individuals suffering from the same disease, or by simply allowing a neighbor to help with chores. Often, individuals become absorbed by their disease, retreating inside themselves and failing to realize the impact a diagnosis has on everyone around them. However, by allowing others to offer support and solace, everyone is relieved of much of the pain a difficult disease brings.
While a variety of alternative and experimental treatments exist for patients, very often the most effective ones are those that address the biggest issues in one’s life, such as diet, emotional state and relationships. Too often we view cancer as a disease which must be violently fought, instead of recognizing this as just another condition that requires healing. To overcome a devastating cancer, like mesothelioma, patients must first overcome the barriers to a natural form of healing that takes into account all aspects of a patient’s life, including their physical wellbeing, mental health and spiritual state.
